Mary Quant at the V&A

It all started when…

Mary Quant and Alexander Plunkett-Greene opened a boutique in 1955 at 138a King’s Road, Chelsea. The name of the boutique was Bazaar and it was an instant hit. Now Mary Quant’s influence on design, style and the attitude to women’s fashion is being recognised at an exhibition at the V&A. Later this summer we will be installing a plaque on the site of the boutique. We have always enjoyed the freedom to be who you want to be on King’s Road, Chelsea. No fashion too daring, no style too outré. Walk the road and see how each area changes your mood from Sloane Square to World’s End and everywhere in between. If you want to book tickets for the exhibition go straight to the V&A website. Also a new website for King’s Road has launched to celebrate even more of the style and attitude we have come to enjoy this side of town. Visit King’s Road London to find out more.
