The Workshop
We have reclaimed some unloved space on King's Road, Chelsea for informal arts and creativity. We opened The Workshop at Christmas and now it's back for Spring. We are grateful to Imperial College for allowing us to use the space and for Sloane Stanley's continued support. We are programming the space with artists and makers of all varieties to bring out the imaginations of all who pass our way. Chelsea Flower Show and Chelsea In Bloom as part of Chelsea Fringe are exciting times for us and we plan to make the most of them. We have enjoyed a variety of displays and flower baskets along with events and activities happening in and near to King's Road over the past few weeks.
Flower baskets develop over the weeks to show their colour and beauty. We hope you enjoy watching them grow and bloom as summer progresses. We post photos on the social media streams.

Time & Place
by The Hampshire School, Chelsea
A six-year-old hornbeam stands proudly beside a six-year-old school child from The Hampshire School, Chelsea. The hornbeam is brimming with petals especially handwritten by schoolchildren to commemorate inmates of the Chelsea Workhouse which was situated on this site over three hundred years ago. In 1700s the destitute and sickly would be taken in by the Chelsea Workhouse and would have walked in the gardens at Dovehouse Green.
Three hundred years later Dovehouse Green is open for all to use at their leisure and to take a break from the hustle and bustle of King's Road, Chelsea.
Below the hornbeam canopy there was space for 100 flowers to be planted to remember others both living and passed away.
Dovehouse Green is a burial ground and is owned by St Luke's Church and managed by the team at RBKC Parks and Leisure. Our tribute to the past recognises the intricately way time is woven into space and how we walk through history every day. For more information on the Chelsea Workhouse visit the website on Workhouses.
Flower Baskets
We have over 150 flower baskets from Sloane Square to World's End in five different colourways in line with
the five districts.

The Specials
Hanging baskets have always been synonymous with village life. Competitions around the country project a traditional point of view. This year we have taken a few of the 150 hanging baskets and had a playful moment. Inspired by a variety of shops and businesses on
King's Road we have produced a few 'specials' in the magical greenhouse at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.
Whilst we won't win any prizes and they may not reach the pinnacle of haute horticulture, nor are they wildly fashion forward, we do hope they will conjure up a smile and remind us to enjoy the burble of daily life every day.
Enjoy them as they develop over the coming weeks and possibly go home to create your own small jumble of planted nonsense. Maybe even jump aboard a double decker, go to the top, enjoy the view and #seeforyourself
